American media billionaire Oprah Winfrey announced Friday 15 March 2024 on Jimmy Kimmel Live that her lifetime partner Stedman Graham has planned a trip to Rwanda to celebrate her 70th birthday. Winfrey quipped, “He actually did really good this year, normally he’s not good…”

Her visit will add to the list of celebrities, including Kevin Hart, King Charles III, Didier Drogba, and many other iconic figures who have in recent years visited Rwanda for an exceptional gorilla trekking experience. Rwanda is considered a favorite destination among the only 3 African countries offering the trekking experience firstly due to its proximity to the park from Kigali the capital city, and secondly because it is easiest to track the gorillas in the country’s Virunga Mountain.
